Wall Mounted Brass Bell
Wall Mounted Brass Bell
Gorgeous wall-mounted bell found in Gent Belgium dating from around the 1950s. This is a solid brass bell including the hanger and the clapper. This is by far the largest clapper we have ever had on a brass bell!
Vintage and antique bells like this would have hung on the outside of houses and were also used as church bells. Farmers also had these so customers could ring the bell while working in the field. They also make a great dinner bell to call the kids when food is ready. The text in Latin reads leo pelicanus angelus bos, translated "the lion pelican an angel"
The condition of this brass bell is good with no major damage or repairs. It does have natural wear like scratches and discoloration that you would expect in vintage and antique bells.
