The large ring that hangs in the lion's mouth moves freely and is used to knock on the door. The strike plate is NOT included with this lion knocker but a generic strike plate can be found online or at a hardware store.

Please note to mount this door knocker with the back bolts they go through the door and get bolted on the inside. Hanging this door knocker with the back mounting system should be done by someone handy especially if it's on your front door.

The condition of this lionhead door knocker is good with no major damage or repairs. It has some natural wear that you would expect from vintage and antique door knockers. We cleaned the lion knocker with some mild soap and kept the lovely patina. Please see the detailed pictures.
