German art forest painting by Otto Schwarz. Upon researching this original artwork we found the signature is by a German artist who lived from 1880-1952. This old master seems to have been popular for oil paintings, nature paintings, and paintings on wood.

This landscape painting was done on a wood panel. We are dating this as a vintage oil painting since this original painting is signed but not dated, but it could be antique.

The original frame color was dull and didn't work well with this forest painting. We gave the frame a gold base cover and then a second white chalk paint. We then lightly distressed the white giving it a great finish. We sealed the frame with a mat clear varnish to help protect it.

The condition of this forest painting is good with no major damage or repairs. It does have natural wear like scratches and discoloration that you would expect in vintage and antique pieces. The small nails holding the wooden painting in the frame and the eye hook were completely rusted and have been replaced. See detailed pictures
